Hi! I am so thrilled you have found my page. My name is Shelby Johnston (hence where SJ comes from). Ive been a makeup artist for a little over 4 years now. I've come to learn that people tend to get their makeup done for life's big moments. I am truly honored to be a small part in those big days. Whether it's getting you ready to marry your best friend on the side of a mountain, to celebrating your newest family addition, to business achievements, and so much more! Whatever you having coming up, trust that I will get you looking your best.

Your favorite beauty bestie.

When I'm not on location or in the Makuep studio, i'm probably at home with my 15 chickens, 3 goats, and puppy.
I am also really involved in my daughter's softball program and you can catch me on the diamond most weekends.

Fun Fact:

My goal is never to be the fastest makeup artist, the best or the TOP. My goal is to connect with you, to know you, to listen to you. Getting your makeup done can be kind of vulnerable for some, especially depending on the occasion. I want you to know, when you sit in my chair, you matter and your concerns matter. You want something changed? You got it. You get a little emotional during your session, I can fix it. You want to bump some 2000's hip hop and jam out, I got the speaker,
You tell me you want to look good in person, but also for photos? I got you. I wont pressure you into a look or more makeup than your comfortable with just so it "looks better in photos". I have techniques to achieve both.

To be completely honest, I'm not like the rest.

I often get asked, "what got you into makeup?" Honestly, I have always loved makeup. In elementary school I would just sit at my mom's vanity and play in her makeup. I was always the one friends would ask to do or help with their makeup, but it was always just a passion and a hobby.
Fast forward a few years. I meet my husband, and we have 2 kids. I believe being a stay at home mom was what I wanted to be. I quickly learned, that was not my path. This was around the time Youtube tutorials were super popular, My escape was watching videos and then doing my makeup. It all sort of morphed from there. I also really LOVE love. So doing makeup for weddings was where my passions morphed. Then I figured out how to turn it into my career. It's great because I still get to be involved with my kid's and their schedules, but also have something that is for me.

So, why become a makeup artist?
